The Del Norte Nighthawks will face off against the St. Augustine Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Del Norte has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with five straight losses, while St. Augustine will come in with three straight victories.
Del Norte came up short against Carlsbad last Tuesday, falling 9-1.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, St. Augustine rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 5-2.
Declan Higgins got the start for St. Augustine and what a start it was: he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Higgins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. Cruz Reyes picked up the save, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Guillermo MacFarland was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Nathan Balkenbush was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
St. Augustine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
St. Augustine's win bumped their record up to 12-17. As for Del Norte, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-13.
