The team relied heavily on Isaac Armstrong, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Urbana: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-22 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Anindo, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Urbana hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kankakee). They blew past Thornton 19-2 on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Mike Prudejr was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, Rahman Lawal was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Short, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Kankakee's win bumped their record up to 10-23. As for Urbana, their victory bumped their record up to 6-23.
