After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Quartz Hill, the Desert Christian Knights were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They took down Vasquez 32-18. For Desert Christian, this counts as revenge for the 32-25 loss Vasquez walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.
Desert Christian found their leader in underclassman Makenzie Duffee, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and four steals. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Corynn Smith, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Desert Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Vasquez, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.
Desert Christian will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lancaster Baptist at 5:30 p.m. Lancaster Baptist's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Desert Christian's offense will have their work cut out for Desert Christian. As for Vasquez, they will head out on the road to face off against The Palmdale Aerospace Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Palmdale Aerospace Academy is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
