Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask George Walton Academy). They blew past the Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes 13-4 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their ten-game losing streak.

Baylor Lowe made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Brock Lowe looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

Back at the plate, Mason Thomason was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Beckett Lacour was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

George Walton Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morristown-Hamblen East only posted an OBP of .344.

George Walton Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. George Walton Academy will challenge Cocke County at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Boyd-Buchanan at 10:00 a.m.
