Xavier Romero made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs. He has become a key player for Yucaipa: the team is 13-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zach Scribner, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Cordero, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.
Yucaipa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Foothill owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Servite. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Friars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Not much got past Caden Lauridsen, who gave up just a hit to keep Servite off the board.
At the plate, Jaxon Foshay was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run. Evrett Rycroft was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Yucaipa's record now sits at 20-10. As for Foothill, their record is now 19-11.
Foothill's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Yucaipa hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. It's a different story for Foothill, though, as they've only averaged .259. Will they be able to contain Yucaipa's hitters?
Yucaipa skirted past Foothill 2-0 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Will the Thunderbirds repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
