Lassen is 9-1 against the Falcons since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Lassen Grizzlies will head out on the road to challenge the Central Valley Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Lassen and 15 for the Falcons.
Last Friday, Lassen came up short against the Miners and fell 51-43.
Lassen's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kinley Somerville, who scored 15 points along with four steals, and Brook Medovitch who scored 13 points along with six steals. Mili Crosno was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Central Valley suffered a rough 62-42 loss at the hands of the Panthers on Friday. While losing is never fun, Central Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 991st, while the Panthers are ranked 153rd).
Lassen has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Central Valley, they dropped their record down to 4-20 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Lassen strolled past the Falcons in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 42-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lassen since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
