Independence had lost ten games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-6 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Foothill Trojans as they made off with a 13-1 win. Isaac Lopez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Independence's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Lopez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
