MaxPreps Top 25 high school football scores: No. 25 Carrollton faces Gainesville in MaxPreps Game of the Week

Georgia is home to the MaxPreps Game of the Week as No. 25 Carrollton goes on the road for a big test against Gainesville. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and for those that can't be in the stadium, watch the free stream on MaxPreps. 

Carrollton (4-0) has outscored its first four opponents 180-49 while Gainesville (3-0) is winning by an average margin of 29.6 points per game. The two programs met last season for the first time since 2006 and Carrollton rolled to a 45-16 win. 

Another big matchup in Georgia features No. 8 Buford hosting a talented Douglas County (Douglasville) squad. Buford (3-0) is coming off a 65-21 win over Roswell last week. 

No. 12 Edna Karr (New Orleans) takes on No. 23 American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) at Caesars Superdome on Friday in one of two MaxPreps Top 25 matchups. 

Edna Karr extended its win streak to 15 with a 35-0 victory over Archbishop Shaw (Marrero, La.). American Heritage is looking to bounce back after a 28-24 loss against No. 19 Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, Fla.). 

No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) locks horns with No. 21 Centennial (Corona, Calif.) on Friday night. Centennial head coach Matt Logan returned to the sideline last week after a medical scare and led a 42-6 win over Bingham (South Jordan, Utah), giving him 297 wins for his career. Mater Dei has won the last seven meetings in the series. 

No. 3 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) has dominated its first three opponents and looks for another quality win Friday against East St. Louis (Ill.). The Gaels have only allowed 14 points this season. 

No. 9 Mission Viejo (Calif.) faces another big test Friday as it makes the trip down to San Diego to face Lincoln (San Diego). The Diablos are coming off a dominant 53-14 win over Folsom and opened the season with a 7-3 victory at No. 16 Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita).
