Helix entered their tilt with Palo Verde Valley on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 30-18 victory over the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets. The 30-point effort marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Helix to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordyn McMillan, who almost dropped a double-double on nine rebounds and nine blocks. McMillan is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Samara Patterson, who posted eight points and 16 boards.

Helix smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reagan McCarthy, who had nine points.

Helix is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Palo Verde Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.

Helix didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-25 win against Calexico on the 19th. As for Palo Verde Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-30 defeat against Otay Ranch on the 20th.
