It's playoff time, and Eastlake had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Point Loma Pointers on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Titans as they're now sitting on 14 straight.
Jordan Gomez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Hamza Hatahet was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Zowen Watson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Eastlake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Eastlake's record is now 24-6. As for Point Loma, their loss dropped their record down to 19-11-1.
