In his two years playing under head coach Rich Morgan, it's safe to say that the hype has been justified and the potential realized.
The 6-foot-4, 280-pound tackle took home Gatorade Player of the Year honors after leading Smith to the state title game.
The agile big man accounted for 18 sacks and 30 tackles for loss despite frequently getting double-teamed.
Not only is Brown one of most heavily-recruited players at his position, but he was one of the most sought-after overall prospects in the country before committing to Virginia in June.
Brown is the
No. 6 overall recruit in the 247Composite.
He is also part of a Virginia recruiting class that features fellow blue chipper Quin Blanding.
