North Crowley (Fort Worth) was the big mover in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school football rankings after getting one of the biggest wins in school history with a 36-34 win over
Duncanville, jumping six spots to No. 3 after advancing to the Class 6A Division 1 state championship game in Texas.
UNLV-bound running back
Cornelius Warren III ran 42 times for 178 yards and a touchdown, adding two catches for 45 yards and another score.
Chris Jimerson threw for 185 yards and four touchdowns with two going to
Quentin Gibson, who finished with five receptions for 107 yards and now has 33 touchdown catches on the season.
The loss dropped Duncanville four spots to No. 7 in this week's rankings.
In the other Class 6A Division 1 semifinal in Texas,
Westlake (Austin) dominated
North Shore (Houston) 35-10 to go from unranked to No. 11. The Chaparrals have won 12 in a row and used the win to reach their first state title game since 2021. It was the Chaparrals 12th consecutive win as they advance to their first state title game since 2021.
North Crowley and Westlake meet Saturday at AT&T Stadium for the title.
In California, No. 1
Mater Dei (Santa Ana) solidified its spot as the top-ranked team in the country with a 37-15 win over
De La Salle (Concord) in the Open Division state championship. The Monarchs now own eight wins over teams currently ranked in the MaxPreps Top 25.
Washington-bound quarterback
Dash Beierly threw for 355 yards and three touchdowns while Oregon-bound running back
Jordon Davison added 107 yards and two scores on the ground.
Grimsley (Greensboro) was one of three new teams to join the MaxPreps Top 25 after beating
Weddington (Matthews) 35-23 in North Carolina's Class 4A semifinals, snapping a 19-game win streak in the process. The Whirlies check in at No. 24 and will face
Rolesville on Friday at Kenan Memorial Stadium.

Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, Fla.), No. 18
Venice (Fla.) and No. 20
American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) join Mater Dei and St. Thomas Aquinas as teams in the MaxPreps Top 25 to win state titles last week.
