Myles McLaughlin of
Knox (Ind.) continued his assault on the record books Friday night, surpassing Baltimore Ravens star Derrick Henry on the national single-season rushing yardage list.
In a 48-18 win over
Mishawaka Marian in an Indiana Class 3A sectional championship game, McLaughlin ran 43 times for 383 yards and six touchdowns.
With as many as three games left to play, the 5-foot-10 senior quarterback upped his season totals to 4,396 yards and 67 touchdowns on 409 carries. He has also thrown three touchdown passes.

The national single-season record is held by Dominick Bragalone of
South Williamsport (Pa.), who rushed for 4,704 yards in 2014. The touchdowns record is owned by Kazmeir Allen of
Tulare Union (Tulare, Calif.), who piled up 72 in 2017.
McLaughlin is 737 yards away from the career rushing record of 12,124 held by Henry of
Yulee (Fla.).
Last week, McLaughlin became Indiana's career rushing leader, surpassing Charlie Spegal of
New Palestine, who finished his career with 10,867 yards.
Knox advances to face
Angola in the regional championship game next Friday.
