Hercules is 9-1 against Swett since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.
Last Friday, Hercules got the win against Richmond by a conclusive 15-3. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Luis Suarez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wynston Bishop, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.
Suarez wasn't the only one making solid contact: Hercules kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Swett, as they earned their first away win of the season. They put the hurt on Kennedy with a sharp 14-2 victory two weeks ago. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.
Adan Miranda made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Gibson, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Swett: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3-1 otherwise. James Benton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Hercules' victory bumped their record up to 7-8-2. As for Swett, their win bumped their record up to 5-3-1.
Swett's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hercules hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. It's a different story for Swett, though, as they've only averaged .213. Will they be able to contain Hercules' hitters?
Everything went Hercules' way against Swett in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Hercules made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
