The Bay Area finished up league play with Central Coast and North Coast Section teams, and like the Sac-Joaquin Section, are all in the playoffs now.
The top two teams in these rankings seemingly are headed for a NorCal Open rematch. Serra could face any number of Sac-Joaquin Section teams in the D-I game.

1. (Last week 1) De La Salle (Concord) (10-0)The Spartans had a bye as the North Coast Section No. 1 seed. The winning streak is 37 overall and 64 in a row against the state and seemingly endless against NorCal competition since 1991. DLS has won 21 successive section titles.

The Bulldogs rolled Lincoln (Stockton) 50-13 in a Sac-Joaquin Section Division I opener.
Jake Browning tossed six touchdown passes, giving him 62 on the season, four shy of the state single-season mark.
Will McClure caught three touchdown passes and
Bailey Laolagi rushed for 63 yards and a score. The last loss was to De La Salle in the NorCal Open last season, capping a 14-0 season start.

3. (7) Serra (San Mateo) (8-2)The Padres crushed previous No. 3 Mitty (San Jose) 31-7 in the West Catholic Athletic League finale to gain a share of the title and now bound into the Central Coast Section Open playoffs as the favorite, even though Terra Nova (Pacifica) earned the No. 1 seed at 10-0.
Hamilton Anoa'i had three touchdown catches a year after going down with a knee injury against Mitty. An earlier loss was a shootout to No. 19 St. Francis (Mountain View) and a 21-14 setback to No. 1 De La Salle.

4. (5) Del Oro (Loomis) (9-2)The Golden Eagles beat River Valley (Yuba City) 63-9 in a Sac-Joaquin Section D-II opener.
Michael Moore completed 10 of 12 passes fro 165 yards and two touchdowns,
Shane Peterson rushed for 85 yards and two scores and
Dylan Kainrath went for 116 and one. The losses were to state power Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) and No. 1 De La Salle (Concord).

5. (6) Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills) (10-1)The Trojans didn't have the ball in the first quarter against Napa in a Sac-Joaquin Section D-I opener, then rolled from there for a 31-7 victory.
Ian Book passed for 142 yards and three touchdowns, two to
Trent Buenzli.
Josh Wellman rushed for 127 yards and a score and
Thomas Mahlman had 17 tackles. Wins include No. 14 Grant and No. 16 Vacaville. The loss was to No. 2 Folsom.

6. (4) Marin Catholic (Kentfield) (10-0)The Wildcats had a bye. The defending North Coast Section D-III champions are favored to repeat.

8. (8) Elk Grove (10-1)The Thundering Herd beat Atwater 42-7 in a Sac-Joaquin Section D-II opener, rushing 53 times for 307 yards.
Wadus Parker carried 35 times for 178 yards and four scores and the defense had three interceptions. The loss was to Franklin (Elk Grove) and the big win was over No. 14 Grant, 7-3.

9. (9) Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove) (9-2)The Eagles beat Modesto 48-12 in a Sac-Joaquin Section D-I opener, traveling as a No. 10 seed to the 7 seed because Modesto was a league champion.
Deaundre Terrell had four touchdowns, two to
Wyatt Demps, who also had a punt return for a score.
Esley Simmons returned a kickoff 91 yards and caught a TD. Wins include Sac-Joaquin Section powers Rocklin, Burbank and Jesuit. The losses are to No. 2 Folsom and No. 5 Oak Ridge.

Lucas Baiocchi,
Cameron Smith and
Michael Geraghty each ran for scores. The losses were to No. 2 Folsom, No. 4 Del Oro and previous No. 10 Rocklin with a win over No. 11 Pittsburg and No. 16 Vacaville.

Deandre Whittington-Grays led the ground attack with 200 yards rushing and two scores, and Whittington-Grays had 20 tackles. Losses were to No. 4 Del Oro, No. 5 Oak Ridge and No. 8 Elk Grove, each by four or fewer points.
