Lorelei Gamble of
Dripping Springs (Texas) is high school softball's national leader in home runs with 19.
The Texas commit launched her 19th home run of the season Tuesday for the Tigers (19-6-1). Gamble dominated in February by hitting a home run in 14 games, including five-straight contests beginning Feb. 12. Half of her hits this season have left the yard.
Avery Howerton of
Whitesboro (Texas) and
Stephanie Flores from
Parkland (El Paso, Texas) take the next two spots.
Howerton, a Texas Tech signee, has hit 18 home runs while pulling double duty with 12 wins in the circle. Flores has 17 this season, seven of which came over a five-game span from Feb. 13-19.
Baylor Bockhaus of unbeaten No. 2
Calvary Baptist Academy (Shreveport, La.) is fifth with 16 bombs. The sophomore already has 52 home runs in her career. Former teammate
Ramsey Walker holds the national record of 97 career home runs, a mark Bockhaus is on pace to shatter by the time she graduates in 2028.
