Video: Xcellent 25 football rankings presented by the Army National GuardSee where the nation's best football teams are ranked. The winningest high school football program in the nation joins this week's MaxPreps south region football computer rankings.
Valdosta (Ga.), which earlier this year became the first high school program to post 900 all-time wins, enters the rankings this week at No. 24.
The big matchup between No. 1 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) and St. John's (Washington D.C.) had little affect on the rankings. IMG Academy remains No. 1 after the win and St. John's did not drop from its No. 4 spot despite the loss.
The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The South region includes teams from Florida, Tennessee, Maryland, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Washington D.C., Kentucky, Arkansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
