Before there were make-believe girlfriends, and all the ugly hoopla that went around that story, Te'o made a huge splash heading into college by picking Notre Dame and then-head coach Charlie Weis over USC. Most considered the Trojans a lock, but he picked the arch-rival Irish at the last moment. Te'o went on to have a highly decorated career in South Bend before being drafted in the second round by the San Diego Chargers last month.
