For Jaccoria Bracey, it's not a matter of whether or not she is one of the best players in Mississippi this year. It's whether she's one of the best players in Mississippi ever.
The
2019-20 Suddenlink Mississippi Player of the Year is a three-time first team all-state selection. Bracey has averaged over 30 points a game each of the past three seasons, including 35 points and 10 rebounds as a senior. She helped lead Ruleville Central to the Region 3A state championship game where she scored 38 points in a loss to Senatobia.
Bracey finished her career with 4,334 points, which ranks her No. 5 in state history behind Victoria Vivians of Scott Central (5,745 points), Mary Kathryn Govero of Mt. Salus Christian (5,015), Monique Horner of Southeast Lauderdale (4,853) and Lindsay Roy of Delta Academy (4,790).

Bracey led Ruleville to the Region 3A championship game and scored 38 points in the team's loss to Senatobia. She averaged 35 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and finished her career with 4,334 points — the 25th highest career total in national history and the fifth-highest in Mississippi history.

The Gatorade State Player of the Year as a junior, Buford poured in 23.1 points per game with 8.8 rebounds, 6.5 steals and 8.3 assists in leading Olive Branch to the Region 6A state finals.
Jakayla Johnson, Clinton

After battling through two ACL injuries, Johnson returned in 2020 to lead Clinton to the Region 6A state finals. She averaged 17.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 2.9 assists per game.

Meridian lost just twice all season (29-2) behind the play of Boler, who led the Wildcats to the Region 6A semifinals. She averaged 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals per game.

Helped Brookhaven to a 28-4 record and a spot in the Region 5A state championship game against Columbus. She averaged 18.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists.

Lee averaged 20.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.0 steals while leading Moss Point to a 25-8 record and a berth in the Region 4A state championship game against Ripley.

The go-to player for the Falcons, she had 19 points in the Region 5A state championship game against Brookhaven and was named the game MVP.
