Birmingham started the drive down 28-24 at their own 20-yard line with 28 seconds left. After two plays where the Patriots went 28 yards, Tisdell took the final snap with four seconds left on the clock. The three-star signal caller avoided the pass rush and chucked the pass deep.
It was tipped in the air by senior teammate
Peyton Waters and into the hands of Jackson, who caught the ball at the 12-yard line and ran into the end zone for six and the 30-28 win.
The win sends Birmingham back to the state championship for the first time since 2021 when the Patriots fell to McClymonds (Oakland) This year Birmingham will take on Acalanes (Lafayette) on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Saddleback College.
