Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding
performers in high school basketball. The tradition continues to close
out the 2025-26 season by naming the top player in each state.
Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in
addition to local and state accolades.
Cam Williams of
St. Mary's (Phoenix) is the 2025-26 MaxPreps Arizona High School Basketball Player of the Year. The 6-foot-11 senior forward led the Knights to a 23-7 record and an appearance in the Open Division state championship game.
For the season, Williams averaged 24.6 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.8 blocked shots per game while shooting 53.9 percent from the field, 43.9 percent from 3-point range and 71.1 percent from the free throw line.

Williams had one of his strongest performances of the season at the Hoophall Classic as he finished with 31 points while shooting 12 of 18 from the field and 4 of 7 from 3-point range to push national No. 1 Paul VI (Chantilly, Va.) to the brink.
Regarded as the No. 3 overall prospect in the Class of 2026 according to Rivals, Williams signed with Duke over finalists Arizona and Texas in November.
