Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding
performers in high school basketball. The tradition continues to close
out the 2025-26 season by naming the top player in each state.
Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in
addition to local and state accolades.
Jordan Carlson of
Lake City (Coeur d'Alene) is the 2025-26 MaxPreps Idaho High School Basketball Player of the Year. The 6-foot-7 junior forward led the Timberwolves to a 19-8 record and second 6A state championship in the past four seasons.
For the season, Carlson averaged 17.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest while knocking down 46 shots from 3-point range.
