3. FB Marshall (Missouri City) (3-1)

4A-1
1. Argyle (3-0)
2. Carthage (4-0)
3. Sealy (3-0)
4. La Vega (Waco ) (3-1)
5. Decatur (4-0)

3. West Orange-Stark (Orange) (2-1)
4. Greenwood (Midland) (4-0)
5. Navarro (Geronimo) (4-0)
Top-ranked Pleasant Grove (Texarkana) seems to enjoy playing on the road. Last week's 45-0 blanking of Gladewater was preceded by a 40-7 shellacking of Henderson. Navarro (Geronimo) joins the top five this week coming off a 55-22 triumph over La Grange.

2. Malakoff (3-1)

The showdown between No. 1 Grandview and No. 2 Malakoff — a rematch of last year's state championship game — turned out to be a thriller. Grandview won again, this time 14-13. Malakoff closed within a point in the final five minutes of an even contest with a scoring pass, but an unsportsmanlike penalty after the touchdown forced a long and unsuccessful extra-point try.

3. East Bernard (4-0)
4. Crane (4-0)
