After going 15-0, winning Georgia's Class AAAAAA state championship and being recognized as high school football's national champion by MaxPreps,
Buford received the hardware to make it official Friday at Buford City Arena.
MaxPreps National Football Editor Zack Poff was on hand to present the Wolves a trophy honoring their efforts and achievements this fall.
Buford punctuated its perfect season Dec. 16 with a 28-21 victory over then-No. 1
Carrollton in the state final at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Wolves became the first team from Georgia to finish as the top team in the country since MaxPreps began recognizing national champions in 2005.

"This just shows all the hard work we have been putting in over the years
and we want to give credit to all the teams in the past to get us to this
point," Buford head coach Bryant Appling said.
Buford outscored opponents by an average margin of 34 points per game with a star-studded roster that included MaxPreps All-Americans
Tyriq Green (Georgia signee),
Deion Miller (Army) and
Bryce Perry-Wright (Texas A&M).
The 2025 state championship marked the 15th for the program dating back to 1978, trailing only
Valdosta with 24. The Wolves have won 11 state crowns in the past 19 seasons.
