MaxPreps crowned its first high school girls basketball national champion in 2009 after
Ben Davis (Indianapolis) capped a 30-0 season with a 71-69 win over four-time consecutive state finalist
South Bend Washington in Indiana's Class 4A championship game before almost 14,000 fans at Lucas Oil
Stadium. Since that time, over 200 schools in 41 states have etched their place
in history by earning a spot in the final MaxPreps Top 25 rankings. See
the complete list below.
Texas had two first-time entrants to keep the Lone Star State ahead of California with 24 different schools represented. California trails by two with 22. Florida (11),
Ohio (11), Maryland (11), Georgia (10), Indiana (10) and New Jersey (10) are
the only other states with double digits.
