MaxPreps Top 25 high school football scores: No. 2 St. Frances Academy falls to St. James Performance Academy

No. 2 St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, Md.) suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday against The St. James Performance Academy (Springfield, Va.) 28-20.

St. Frances led 17-0 before St. James roared back with four unanswered touchdowns.

Quarterback Kash Carter threw all four of those scores, two of which went to Vincent Hill.

Defensively the Strivers held St. Frances to three second-half points and Kymani Bridge had a big interception.

This comes one week after The St. James Academy narrowly lost to No. 3 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) 44-42.

No. 24 North Shore (Houston, Texas) came from behind to top Summer Creek (Houston, Texas) 28-27 on Friday night. Summer Creek led 21-7 and had the ball before North Shore roared back and won.

First quarterback Javoris Taylor threw two touchdowns to Michael Camacho Jr. and Jaden Kendrick to bring North Shore within one point. Then the defense got a stand and the offense scored a touchdown from running back Kaden Brandley to take the lead with 80 seconds left.

That was enough time though for Summer Creek as Caleb White, who returned a missed field goal for a touchdown and had an interception earlier in the game, returned the ensuing kickoff to the North Shore 10-yard line. One play later Summer Creek was in the end zone. North Shore led 28-27 and blocked the extra-point and recovered the onside kick to win the game and remain undefeated.
