The most anticipated game of the Texas state tournament to this point lived up to the billing as
Atascocita (Humble) pulled off the third-round upset Tuesday over No. 8
Seven Lakes (Katy) 78-66.

Jachai Cantave led the way with a game-high 26 points, including 18 points in the second half, while Louisiana Tech signee
Adam Boyd chipped in 23 points in the win. Junior guard
Royce Shelton was the only other player in double-figures for the Eagles with 12 points.
Seven Lakes, which had been a favorite in the Conference A Division 1 field, ends it season 35-1.

Atascocita jumped out to an early 19-7 lead before Seven Lakes stormed back with a 15-0 run to take a 22-19 lead early in the second quarter. However, the Eagles only trailed momentarily as they re-established a 39-33 lead at the half before extending the advantage to 50-42 entering the fourth quarter.
Although Atascocita won the contest by double-digits, previously-unbeaten Seven Lakes was able to keep the contest close until the closing minutes.
Isaiah Santos concluded his impressive junior campaign with a team-high 16 points for Seven Lakes.
Seven Lakes won the previous meeting between the two teams 58-57 on Nov. 15. The Spartans had won 54 of their previous 55 games dating back to last season.
