High school football rankings: David Gabriel Georges, Baylor hold steady in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 after 19th consecutive win

Five-star running back David Gabriel Georges led Baylor (Chattanooga, Tenn.) to another impressive win over the weekend, cruising to a 49-7 victory over McCallie (Chattanooga, Tenn.), improving 7-0 and holding steady at No. 11 in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school football rankings.

Gabriel Georges rushed 11 times for 109 yards and two scores to go with 50 yards receiving and another score. In five career games against McCallie, the 2025 MaxPreps National Player of the Year has run 56 times for 1,170 yards and 17 touchdowns.

It was the 97th all-time meeting between the rivals with Baylor now owning a 49-45-3 edge in the series. It was the third straight win for the Red Raiders over McCallie, which is their longest streak since 2013. In Florida, No. 1 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale) erased a 20-7 third-quarter deficit to pull out a 21-20 win over Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood). Ryan Mathis accounted for both second-half touchdowns and Ohio State-bound defensive lineman Wyatt Smith blocked the go-ahead field goal attempt to secure the victory. It was the 20th straight win for the seven-time defending state champs and second over a MaxPreps Top 25 opponent this season.

No. 3 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) needed a 47-yard field goal from Zach Brien as time expired to escape with a 44-42 win against a previously-undefeated The St. James Performance Academy (Springfield, Va.) squad. Five-star junior quarterback Jayden Wade completed 16 of 22 passes for 348 yards and three touchdowns. Osani Gayles was his favorite target hauling in nine catches for 185 yards and two scores. Gayles also had a huge kickoff return to set the Ascenders up at the 20-yard line for the game-winning field goal. Censere Gaylord had two interceptions, including a 97-yard pick-six.

In California's Trinity League, No. 9 St. John Bosco (Bellflower) won its fifth consecutive game after a 38-28 loss at No. 8 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) to begin the season. The Braves rolled to a 40-14 win over JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano) and have a tough test next week against Orange Lutheran (Orange) before a huge showdown at home against No. 4 Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita) on Oct. 16.

Santa Margarita (6-0) notched a hard-fought 14-7 win over No. 21 Mater Dei (Santa Ana). Fletch Palmer completed 13 of 20 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown while the defense pitched a shutout after allowing a touchdown on the Monarchs opening drive. The Eagles recorded seven sacks and freshman Jayden Jack iced the game with an interception in the final minute.

At No. 25 Trinity (Louisville, Ky.) was the only newcomer to this week's MaxPreps Top 25. The Shamrocks have won three in a row since a 35-27 loss against Baylor. They have outscored their last three opponents 119-0 and are coming off a 41-0 win against St. Xavier (Cincinnati, Ohio). The Kentucky powerhouse is 3-0 against teams from Ohio as they knocked off Anderson (Cincinnati) and Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati) earlier this season.
