2025 Pennsylvania Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 high school football rankings

Top-ranked St. Joseph's Prep looks for 10th state championship since 2013.

The high school football season in Pennsylvania kicks off this month and we have your look at the state's top teams. Three-time defending Class 6A state champion St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia) owns the No. 1 spot in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25.

The Philadelphia powerhouse looks to continue a dominant run that has seen them capture nine state championships since 2013.

Seniors Alexander Haskell (6-4, 265, DL, Penn State commitment) and Simaj Hill (6-1, 180, S, West Virginia) along with junior Brandon Lockley (6-2, 216, S, uncommitted) lead the charge for St. Joseph's Prep.

The top player in the state is senior safety Joey O'Brien of La Salle College (Wyndmoor). Committed to Notre Dame, O'Brien is regarded as the No. 30 prospect in the class nationally.

In addition to St. Joseph's Prep, defending state champions include Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg) in Class 5A, Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic (Drexel Hill) in Class 4A, Northwestern Lehigh (New Tripoli) in Class 3A, Troy in Class 2A and Bishop Guilfoyle (Altoona) in Class 1A.
