2025 Texas Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 high school football rankings

Top-ranked Duncanville seeks third state championship in the past four seasons.

Twelve MaxPreps Top 25 teams represent their state led by Mater Dei, Grayson, IMG Academy and Duncanville.

The high school football season in Texas kicks off this month and we have your look at the state's top teams. Duncanville owns the No. 1 spot in the Preseason MaxPreps Top 25.

The Panthers begin the season ranked No. 9 nationally as they look to win their third Conference 6A Division 1 state championship over the past four seasons.

Seniors K.J. Ford (6-4, 245, DE, Florida commitment), Landon Barnes, (6-4, 235, DE, Mississippi), Ayson Theus (5-8, 165, TCU), Zachery Turner (6-2, 220, TE, SMU) and Braylon Edwards (5-11, 180, S, SMU) lead the charge for Duncanville.

The top player in the state is Keisean Henderson of Legacy School of Sport Sciences (Spring). Committed to Houston, the senior quarterback is ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect nationally.

Defending state champions include Vandegrift (Austin) in Conference 6A-II, North Crowley (Fort Worth) in Conference 6A-I, Randle (Richmond) in Conference 5A-II, Smithson Valley in Conference 5A-I, Carthage in Class 4A-II, Celina in Conference 4A-I, Gunter in Class 3A-II, Columbus in Class 3A-I, Muenster in Class 2A-II and Ganado in Class 2A-I.
