Pegged by many to be taken with the first pick in July's MLB Draft,
Druw Jones ended his high school baseball career on a high note Tuesday by leading
Wesleyan (Norcross) to a sweep over North Cobb Christian (Kennesaw) in Georgia's Class A Private state championship series.
Jones, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound outfielder, got things rolling for Wesleyan in the first inning of the opening game in the best-of-three series with a triple. That sparked the Wolves (35-5) to 3-0 and 18-3 wins over North Cobb Christian.

A candidate for MaxPreps National Player of the Year honors, Jones entered the series batting .568 with 63 runs, six doubles and 13 home runs. He also spent some time on the mound for Wesleyan this season, going 8-1 with 43 strikeouts in 33 innings with a 4.54 ERA.
Despite being pitched around, Jones went 2-for-3 in Tuesday's games with a double in addition to the triple.
Jones is the son of five-time MLB All-Star Andruw Jones, best known for his run with the Atlanta Braves from 1996 to 2007. He went on to play with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees before retiring in 2014.
The 2022 MLB Draft will be held July 17-19 in Los Angeles.
