Chavis
may have had one of the greatest conclusions to a prep career as his
last four base hits were all home runs. He hit two home runs in each of
Sprayberry's final two games of the season against East Paulding. For
the season, Chavis batted .580 (47 for 81) with 30 runs scored, 37 RBIs,
nine doubles and 13 home runs.
What the scouts like: Scouts
note that Chavis has above-average power, although it has not always
been consistent. A good athlete, Chavis should be able to stick at third
base, but he could end up in the outfield.
Where he will go:
Don't expect any high school third basemen to go in the first round,
however Chavis could be chosen in the compensatory round following the
first round.
