Ontario Christian (18-0) is No. 1 in the MaxPreps Top 25 girls basketball rankings. The Knights are the reigning Southern Section Division 1 champions as they look to reach their first state final this season. In his second season as head coach of the program, Aundre Cummings has led the Southern California school to a record of 48-2.
Archbishop Mitty (10-1) checks in at No. 3 after starting the season in the top spot. The Monarchs have reached the Open Division state final in each of the past four seasons. Head coach Sue Phillips is a Mitty alum with more than 850 wins. She was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame last season.
Ontario Christian is led by Smith, last the 2024-25 MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year. The 5-foot-6 point guard is averaging 32.9 points, 7.8 assists and 5.1 steals per game.
Three other Ontario Christian players also average double figures including the 2024-25 MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year
Tatianna Griffin, who is putting up 22.0 points per game. Junior
Dani Robinson (16.6) and freshman
Chloe Jenkins (16.5 points, team-high 12.8 rebounds per game) add to the firepower for the Knights.
Archbishop Mitty got a boost to its lineup with the return of All-American Iowa commit Woliczko, who dropped 19 points and 13 rebounds last week in her first game back from suffering an ACL injury last January that cut her junior season short.
