The MaxPreps Massachusetts Basketball Player of the Year led the Shamrocks to a state title on March 15 and started tearing it up on the the diamond six days later.
On Wednesday, the 6-foot-9 University of Texas baseball commit ran his season strikeout total to 20 in 7.2 innings against 30 batters. He's been clocked at 100.9 mph after preseason videos showed him touching 99.

In three innings Wednesday against
La Salle Academy (Providence, R.I.) he fanned nine of 10 batters with a hit batsman the only blemish. He left after three as Bishop Feehan eventually fell 1-0 to the Rams.
Bumila's diamond exploits come on the heels of Bishop Feehan's basketball state championship in which the center went for 40.8 points and 20.8 rebounds during the tournament. On the season, he averaged 30.6 points and 15.2 rebounds in 27 games.
Less than a week after cutting down the nets, Bumila made his spring debut and went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI in a 13-1 win over
Weymouth (South Weymouth).
Bumila made his pitching debut March 26 against
Shrewsbury, going 1.2 hitless innings with two strikeouts. The southpaw's next outing saw him go three more hitless with nine punchouts.
He created a viral buzz not often seen in the baseball world as dozens of scouts with radar guns braving 40 degree weather in Massachusetts to get a look at the Randy Johnson-esque hurler.
The No. 69 prospect according to Baseball America, he didn't pitch last season due to Tommy John surgery.
