J.P. Crawford, Lakewood (Calif.)Crawford was playing prep baseball in Southern California a little more than a year ago. He hit .452 as a senior for the Lancers in 2013 and stole 73 bases in four years of varsity play. Crawford, a cousin of the Los Angeles Dodgers' Carl Crawford, scored 162 runs and knocked 179 hits in his prep career before the Phillies drafted him 16th overall in 2013.
He plays for the Clearwater Threshers of the Class A-advanced Florida State League, and is hitting .279 with 14 steals between two stops.
