WATCH: Kaleena Smith puts up 50 points, shows why she is arguably the best girls basketball player in the country

Kaleena Smith of No. 1 Ontario Christian (Ontario, Calif.) has been dazzling high school girls basketball fans since she was in eighth grade.

During Saturday's MaxPreps Game of the Week, Smith showed why some think she is the best player in the country regardless of class. The 5-foot-6 junior point guard dropped 50 points in a 96-87, double-overtime victory over No. 3 Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.).

See highlights of Smith's performance in the video. Smith notched her fourth career 50-point game and her second of the season in the win over Mitty. She is sixth nationally in scoring at 33.2 points per game and 17th in assists at 7.4 according to the MaxPreps leaderboards.

Against Mitty, Smith had 15 points at the half and scored nine in the third and 12 in the fourth quarter, including a pair of free throws that sent the contest to overtime.

In the second extra period, Smith took over. She scored Ontario Christian's final nine points in addition to coming up with several crucial steals that led to easy transition buckets. She finished with six rebounds and four steals while shooting 47 percent from the field.

A five-star prospect, Smith has more than 20 Division I offers from the likes of Iowa, Louisville, South Carolina, Tennessee, UConn, UCLA and USC

Smith has a chance to strengthen her status as the top player in the country as Ontario Christian faces a gauntlet of ranked teams this coming week. The Knights take on No. 2 Bishop McNamara (Forestville, Md.) on Friday at the Hoophall Classic before games against No. 8 St. John-Vianney (Holmdel, N.J.) on Saturday and National Top 10 No. 1 Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, N.Y.) on Monday.
