St. Anthony (Jersey City, N.J.), Bob Hurley's days of piling up victories as a high school basketball coach appear to be over.
But he's still winning big.
Wednesday night in Los Angeles, Hurley was named Best Coach at the ESPY Awards.
Hurley compiled a career record of 1,184-125 and won 28 state titles in 45 seasons at St. Anthony.
The Jersey City program was named national champions by MaxPreps during back-to-back undefeated seasons in 2010-11 and 2011-12.
Prominent former players include Kyle Anderson, Terry Dehere, Bobby and Danny Hurley and David Rivers.
The ESPY Awards are in their 25th year of honoring individual and team success in sports. Other winners this year included Russell Westbrook (Male Athlete), Simone Biles (Female Athlete), Dak Prescott (Breakthrough Athlete), Deshaun Watson (Male College Athlete), Serena Williams (Female Tennis Player) and Demetrious Johnson (Best Fighter).
