LaMelo Ball is evidently working on his mid-range game and drives to the bucket.
His dad LaVar Ball is evidently just working on staying on the sideline.
Both were on full display over the weekend as the father and son Big Baller Brand AAU team continued action as part of the Adidas Summer Championships in Las Vegas.
LaMelo, who averaged 26.7 points per game as a sophomore and scored 92 in a February contest, rarely settled for 3-pointers, instead droving to the hoop, making a creative assortment of floaters and bank shots. He's already committed to UCLA.
LaVar, who was thrown out of a game Friday after two technical fouls, made it through this particular contest. Earlier this summer he had the Big Ballers walk off the court late in the game after a referee's call he wasn't happy with.
The father of Lonzo Ball, the second pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Lakers, has been the center of national controversy over several outrageous statements he made since his oldest son starred at UCLA as a freshman.
