The Rolling Hills Prep Huskies will challenge the Temecula Prep Patriots at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rolling Hills Prep knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Temecula Prep likes a good challenge.
Rolling Hills Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Bethel Christian 10-1. Considering the Huskies have won eight contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Alex Hernandez and Matthew Moyer made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Hernandez tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meanwhile, Moyer pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hernandez is becoming a predictor of Rolling Hills Prep's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 7-10 when he doesn't). At bat, Hernandez went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Moyer went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits Hernandez has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Samuel Lopez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Rolling Hills Prep: the team is 8-4 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian McGhee, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Rolling Hills Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Temecula Prep waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Cavaliers.
Nikolaz Gonzalez was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple.
Gonzalez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cody Servin, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Rolling Hills Prep's record is now 10-11. As for Temecula Prep, their record now sits at 16-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rolling Hills Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Temecula Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
