The Don Lugo Conquistadores just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the La Serna Lancers at 6:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Don Lugo will be strutting in after a win while La Serna will be coming in after a defeat.
On Thursday, Don Lugo took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 45-13 win over Workman. Given Don Lugo's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while Workman is ranked 1198th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Makena Encarnacion continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Sarah Magadan was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, La Serna ended up a good deal behind La Habra on Thursday and lost 50-35. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for La Serna in their matchups with La Habra: they've now lost three in a row.
Don Lugo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for La Serna, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
