Florida high school football scoreboard: Week 1 top 25 schedule, scores

This week's Florida high school football schedule was headlined by a trio of MaxPreps top 25 battles on Saturday as No. 4 IMG Academy (Bradenton) slipped past No. 10 St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia) 17-14, No. 7 Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood) defeated No. 12 St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, Md.) 35-14 and defending national champion No. 3 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) knocked off No. 9 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale) 20-7.

The top contests between state-ranked teams this week saw No. 6 Columbus (Miami) knock off No. 5 Clearwater Academy International (Clearwater) 28-21, No. 7 Norland (Miami) outlast No. 10 Lakeland 48-34 and No. 19 Cocoa take down No. 11 Jones (Orlando) 22-20.

Unexpected results Friday night included Palmetto (Miami) defeating No. 8 Homestead 13-12, Armwood (Seffner) shocking No. 9 Venice 34-25, Treasure Coast (Port St. Lucie) upsetting No. 18 Osceola (Kissimmee) 22-8 and St. Augustine coming from behind to outpace No. 20 Bolles (Jacksonville) 43-36.
