Celeste (Texas) played to a 60-60 deadlock in the first half Friday. Then Bells pulled away for a 94-74 win in one of the highest scoring games in Texas high school football history.
The 168 combined points ranks as one of the highest-scoring games in Texas history. Spur and Lorenzo set the mark in 1930, with Spur coming out on top in a 186-0 win.

Bryan Ponder threw for six touchdowns in the win and also rushed for a pair of scores. Ponder now has 27 touchdown passes on the season. He also added eight 2-point conversion passes.
Jacob Taylor added four touchdown runs for Bells.
Xavier Edwards accounted for eight touchdowns in the first half alone for Celeste, as he threw five scoring passes, ran for a pair of touchdowns and also had a touchdown reception. However, Bells held Edwards without a score in the second half en route to outscoring Celeste 34-14 over the final two quarters.
