The Northgate Broncos will take on the Liberty Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Northgate will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Campolindo on Tuesday. The Broncos put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 17-11 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Broncos' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Northgate let Cole Torrey and Luke Dress run wild. Torrey got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Dress got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI. Those four runs gave Dress a new career-high. Shane Malloy was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Liberty strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Washington as they made off with a 10-2 victory. Considering the Lions have won four games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Mateo Morrison looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Chayce Formosa was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those home runs marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Farr, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.
Liberty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington only managed five.
Northgate's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Northgate has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Liberty struggles in that department as they've averaged .460. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
