The Vallejo Redhawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Hercules Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vallejo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Vallejo will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Bethel, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Redhawks had just enough and edged out the Jaguars 6-5 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Redhawks have posted since May 7, 2024.

David Bernstine III was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Vallejo's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 8-4 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Lebeau (HC) Wallace, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Vallejo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Hercules entered their tilt with Vallejo back in April with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Redhawks. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Jason Kao, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Nathaniel Melgoza was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and one run.
Hercules' victory bumped their record up to 12-8-2. As for Vallejo, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Vallejo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312. However, it's not like Hercules struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Vallejo suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Hercules in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Redhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
