The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Odessa nor Summit Christian Academy made it on the board until the eighth inning. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 3-1.
Bella Blackaby spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Odessa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenna Pierson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Pierson has hit this season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Harrisonville challenged Clinton on Tuesday. The Wildcats blew past the Cardinals 11-1. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.
Jayci Winters made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Harrisonville let Haisley Hill and Paige Cribbs run wild. Hill went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Cribbs went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Cribbs has posted since back in October of 2024. Brylee Henson-Dawson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Harrisonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Odessa came out on top in a nail-biter against Harrisonville when the teams last played last Tuesday, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
