It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the La Jolla Vikings ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top against Desert Christian Academy by a score of 48-41. The team accrued 29 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
Leading La Jolla to victory were Drew Bennett and Reagan Bennett. Bennett dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Bennett scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Olivia Snider was another key contributor, scoring five points along with four steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for La Jolla and bumps their season record up to 11-9. As for Desert Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.
La Jolla will be playing in front of their home fans against Canyon Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Loma Linda Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 17th.
