Northglenn hasn't had much luck against Brighton recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Norsemen will host the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Northglenn's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Boulder 15-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Norsemen considering their one-run performance the game before.

Claire Wolford made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Wolford was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooklynn Hendrick, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kloe Barela, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Northglenn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Brighton made easy work of Mountain Range on Tuesday and carried off an 11-3 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ella McHugh and Suki Mizunaga did most of the damage at the plate: McHugh went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Mizunaga went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That triple marked the first that McHugh has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Umsted, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Brighton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Northglenn, their win bumped their record up to 8-10.
Northglenn might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Brighton in their previous meeting back in September. Will the Norsemen have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
