It was a good run, but the Silverado Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 69-62 to Canyon. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Silverado still got an impressive performance from Elizabeth Udeze, who scored 26 points. Udeze has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times she's played. Belinda Rincon was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Silverado's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Canyon, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silverado will take on Victor Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Victor Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 906th, while Silverado is ranked 176th). As for Canyon, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Yorba Linda at 5:30 p.m.
