Hayden is 0-6 against Florence since February of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Lobos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gophers at 3:45 p.m. The last three games Hayden has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
While Hayden's victory against Mogollon wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lobos skirted past the Mustangs 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Lobos in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Florence). Everything went their way against Globe on Friday as they made off with an 18-3 victory. Considering the Gophers have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jayden Magill and Jagger Navarro were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Magill pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Navarro pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Magill has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Magill went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Navarro went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs Magill has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Florence got a massive performance out of Devlin Carberry, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most RBI Carberry has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kris Aguirre, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Florence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Globe only posted an OBP of .273.
Hayden's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Florence, their victory bumped their record up to 18-6.
Hayden came up short against Florence in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, falling 5-2. Will the Lobos have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
