O'Neill (Neb.) could be nicknamed the "Iceman" after his heroic catch Friday night in the Nebraska state quarterfinals. He won the game - and he did it in style.
The Eagles were trailing Aquinas 12-7 with 3:20 left in their season. Quarterback
Alex Thramer lofted an off-balance 12-yard pass toward the end zone with the season hanging in the balance, and the 6-foot-2, 155-pound Liewer saved the day. He climbed the ladder with a fully extended one-handed touchdown catch and somehow kept one foot in the end zone to complete the clutch reception.
Was it a catch? An official stood right next to him to watch the entire sequence, so we're going to side with his judgement.
